Rebecca Lee – Speakers Team
Rebecca Lee is a senior analyst at California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). Rebecca currently manages legislative affairs for the Division of Ratepayer Advocates (DRA), within CPUC, where she analyzes energy, water, and telecommunications legislation affecting customers of California’s investor-owned utility companies. She is responsible for representing DRA’s policy positions before the State Legislature, and frequently testifies before legislative committees to advocate for the interests of utility customers. Previously, Rebecca served as a senior analyst within Energy Division of CPUC, specializing in the policy areas of long-term procurement planning, wholesale energy procurement, advanced energy storage, greenhouse gas reduction strategies, and clean energy research and development (R&D). Rebecca holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine, where she won a competitive undergraduate research grant for an econometrics paper on commuter behavior. She is fully bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English, and has working proficiency in Japanese. In her spare time, she volunteers for animal welfare campaigns, and enjoys cooking, sewing, gardening, and playing the accordion.
