TEDxPeacePlaza will present a simulcast of TED2014 at TEDxPeacePlazaLive on March 18, 2014. TEDxPeacePlazaLive will be held at the Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco Japantown with doors opening at 5:30pm. Along with the simulcast of TED2014, TEDxPeacePlazaLive will also feature several original pre-recorded video talks addressing the theme of “Collaborating for Community Growth.” Our talks will feature speakers actively engaged in connecting various elements of their communities across organizational and generational lines to address community needs of preserving legacies, empowering individuals, and sustaining support from members of the community. Our speakers will present novel ideas and methods that illustrate how connecting individuals and organizations in the community can generate new opportunities and possibilities for the community to flourish.
2014 marks TED’s 30th anniversary, and the theme for TED2014 is simply this: “The Next Chapter.” We’ll be seeking to understand what are truly the most significant developments of the last 30 years … and applying that knowledge to understand what’s ahead. The theme makes it easy for us to reach out to the world’s greatest minds and challenge them to help shape a program better than any in our history.
TEDxLive is an extension of the TEDx program, launched by TED in 2010. TEDxLive events are TEDx events built around the live webcast of TED Conferences. TEDxLive events enable TED enthusiasts all over the world to experience live sessions of the TED Conference. Some are simple viewing events, and some host live speakers.
